A couple of days ago I started an experiment with vermiponics.
This systems works just like an aquaponics system. Like an aquaponics system, you use an animal to provide nutrients to the plants. But in a vermiponics system, you don’t use fish. But you use worms.
In the growbed, you put bedding and food for the worms. Just like in a worm bin. And in there you plant your plants.
When the water goes through the bedding, the nutrients dissolve in the water. And the nutrient rich water goes back to the tank.
Well, since I started my mini vermiponics system, I haven’t fed my worms anything. They can eat the bedding. But I don’t know if they did. I started with only 5 mature worms. Maybe they have laid eggs in there. Tomorrow I’ll check on them and see if they ate any of the bedding and then give them some food.
